Typical scenario

Concrete strength report is not tied to the placement zone

A strong specimen result must be linked to the concrete it represents. Suppose several deliveries were placed that day, specimen labels conflict with the placement grid log and rebound results lack a stated strength correlation.

What needs to be clarified

Review specimen traceability and applicability, distinguishing supplied concrete checks, curing conditions and in-place strength assessment.

Materials to prepare

  • Placement grid/time log and delivery tickets
  • Specimen sampling, curing and testing records
  • Nondestructive test map and correlation data

What to compare

Trace delivery and location through specimen identity to results. Check age, curing, test method and complete series. Compare indirect readings with correlation applicability and surface condition. Flag unverified links; agree further structural investigation with a relevant specialist.

Possible outcome of the analysis

A traceability matrix may identify adequately documented and unresolved zones and necessary clarification or testing; the review does not authorize loading the structure.

Limits of the conclusions

One specimen does not automatically represent the whole structure. Unverified location or unsuitable correlations cannot justify a single in-place strength value.
